Todd Hazelwood and Bryce Fullwood have shared the Bigmate Racing Falcon today at Queensland Raceway, as part of the Coates Hire Ipswich SuperSprint.
The team completed three sessions today, with the Additional Drivers Practice and two Supercars practice sessions.
Hazelwood although said the team endured some struggles today and hope to have all of their issues resolved before qualifying and Race 19 tomorrow.
“It was a difficult day in the Bigmate Racing Falcon today … didn’t have much go to plan battling braking issues in both sessions—it’s been an issue we have been fighting for a couple of rounds,” Hazelwood said.
“Unfortunately we lost a lot of time during the session sitting in the pits have work being done, causing us not to get many laps in, it’s been a pretty frustrating day for the team and I.
“Fortunately with QR being our home test track, understanding the car is minimised and we can still go into tomorrow with confidence.”
Hazelwood added that having Fullwood out in the car in today’s opening session provided valuable feedback to the team.
“The highlight of the day was seeing Bryce do a handy job in the co-driver session,” Hazelwood said.
“He provided some good feedback about the car and helped me prepare for my first session.
“I’m really looking forward to having him in the car this season—it’s not long until we will be racing at Sandown, so was great to see him get comfortable in the car today.”
Hazelwood will be on track tomorrow for Practice 3 tomorrow morning, before qualifying and Race 19 of the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship.
