The 2024 Supercars season has got off to a strong start in pre-season testing for Matt Stone Racing’s Cameron Hill and Nick Percat.
Both Car #4 and Car #10 were on track today at Queensland Raceway for the official Supercars pre-season test.
Hill in Car #4 sported a Tyrepower logo on the doors after this morning’s naming rights announcement, while Car #10 of Percat featured Bendix branding, as confirmed last week.
The MSR duo walked away from a highly successful full day of on-track running, with both Chevrolet Camaros running well over the course of the day and looking fast.
Cameron Hill – Driver of #4:
“We ticked a lot of boxes, found some things that the car responded to. We did some soft tyre running and hard tyre running as the first race at Bathurst is on the hard tyre, so we needed to establish the difference between the two compounds. It’s been a great day, looking forward to going over the data and turning up for Round 1 in a couple weeks time, and I can’t wait for everybody to see the Tyrepower livery on Friday.”
Nick Percat – Driver of #10:
“It was awesome to get behind the wheel again, it feels like a long time since the Adelaide 500 until now. Enjoyable day and cool to test at Queensland Raceway which is something that I’ve never done before; just good to become entrenched in the MSR team. Obviously new relationships with everyone and the whole team has been so welcoming. My engineer Jack Bellotti and I got on very well with the way we tuned the car; I’m looking forward to going to the first round and getting on track. Before that we get to show off the car on Friday, which is exciting, the Bendix colours are going to look amazing. If it’s as fast as it’s going to look, I think we’re in for a really good year.
