Matt Stone Racing can confirm that Aaron Seton, co-driver of the No. 10 Bendix Racing Camaro, will step into wildcard duties earlier than originally planned. Seton had initially been scheduled to make his 2026 Supercars debut at the Ipswich Super 440, however a change to the team’s plans will see him take the wheel of the third Matt Stone Racing entry in Townsville.
The wildcard seat was originally allocated to Cameron Crick. However, following discussions between Crick and Team Owner Matt Stone, it was agreed that Crick would step away from his planned Townsville commitments to focus on managing some minor health concerns and ensuring he is in the best possible condition ahead of the 2026 Enduro Cup campaign – where he is slated to co-drive the No.4 Sherrin Rentals Camaro alongside Jack Le Brocq.
Crick has been a valued member of the Matt Stone Racing family for several years, having previously represented the team alongside Cameron Hill as a co-driver in 2024, before stepping up as a wildcard driver in 2025. The team remains fully supportive of Crick during this period and looks forward to welcoming him back to the Supercars paddock for the endurance season.
“Naturally, it’s disappointing to step away from the wildcard program, but after discussing with Matt and the team, we agreed that focusing on my health and making sure I’m back in full swing for the Enduros is the right decision.” Crick said. “I’m incredibly thankful for the support I’ve received from my Partners and everyone at Matt Stone Racing. The team has been fantastic, and while I’ll miss being on track in Townsville, I’ll be working hard behind the scenes and preparing for my return later in the year.”
Aaron Seton’s Townsville appearance will mark the first outing for Matt Stone Racing’s 2026 wildcard program and will see the third-generation touring car racer unveil a striking new livery that celebrates the Seton family’s rich history in Australian motorsport. Further details surrounding the design will be revealed in the lead-up to the event.
The Townsville start also provides Seton with an ideal opportunity to build momentum ahead of the Ipswich Super 440 and the endurance season where he will join forces with Zach Bates in the No.10 Bendix Racing Camaro.
“Obviously the circumstances aren’t ideal and my first thoughts are with Cam. He’s a great mate and a huge part of this team, so I wish him all the best and look forward to seeing him back later in the year.” Seton said. “From a driving perspective, I’m really excited to get the opportunity to race the wildcard in Townsville. Any chance to gain additional Supercars race experience is valuable, and being able to get an extra event under our belt before Ipswich and the Enduros is something I’m very grateful for. We’ve got a really cool livery to unveil as well, which has a lot of personal meaning for my family, so I’m looking forward to sharing that with everyone in the coming weeks.”
Team Owner Matt Stone commented: “First and foremost, our priority is making sure Cameron has the time and support he needs to focus on his health. While we’re disappointed he won’t be racing with us in Townsville, we’re fully behind his decision and look forward to seeing him back in the car for Enduros.” Stone said, “At the same time, we’re excited to give Aaron the opportunity to step into the wildcard program earlier than planned. He’s done a fantastic job with us for a number of years. The team has strong momentum behind us at the moment, and we’re looking forward to seeing what we can achieve across all three cars in Townsville”
