Matt Stone – Team Owner:
“As we wrap it up here after the Bathurst 1000, we leave the Mountain wanting more but still with a bloody good result. It’s the best-ever finish for Matt Stone Racing with a car inside the top 10 with Jack Le Brocq and Jayden Ojeda finishing ninth. A great effort by the Car #35 crew coming inside the top 15 in 15th. The day ran faultlessly for most of it but unfortunately we had a very small clutch issue at the start of the race which actually meant we missed the start with Car #35. The guys were able to quickly duck into the pits and fix it and get out and start from pit lane and then fight back from there. Car #35 was making up solid ground and then unfortunately had to double stack and with the race running green from there it was hard to make ground but they managed to get back to 15th. All-in-all, a great finish for the team, two cars taking the chequered flag, two cars running strong all day, and a best-ever result for MSR. Awesome way to finish off at the Mountain and looking forward to coming back next year and going one better.”
Jack Le Brocq – Primary Driver of #34:
“P9 for us — it was a great day for myself, Juice, and MSR. We tracked along and tried to stay out of trouble there, we had some really good speed at the end and Juice did an awesome job. It’s a shame those two stints in the middle there, we had two lots of extra fuel and had a little over-heating issue and that sort of hurt us a little, we lost some speed in those stints there. That’s the way it went, we stayed out of trouble and pressed on and came home with P9 so absolutely stoked.”
Cameron Hill – Primary Driver of #35:
“Bathurst is in the books. Hard slog behind the wheel today for Jay and I. We immediately had a clutch problem on the formation lap and started the race from pit lane 30 seconds behind after a quick clutch bleed. It helped but we pushed through the whole day with about 30% of a clutch pedal. We never gave up though, and ran as high as third which was cool to see. Managed to rebound from 28th and dead last to finish 15th. Thank you so much to the whole MSR team, you guys are legends, we will come back, better stronger faster.”
Jayden Ojeda – Co-Driver of #34:
“Happy with a top 10 at the mountain! Crossed the line 9th today, was fighting for a top five before a slow stop dropped us back. Mega job from the Matt Stone Racing team and Jack Le Brocq this enduro season. It’s been a fun couple of months.”
Jaylyn Robotham – Co-Driver of #35:
“Happy to finish 15th in the Bathurst 1000. We didn’t make the grid due to a clutch issue, which was something we had to manage throughout the whole race, but we fought back. A big thank you to the Matt Stone Racing crew and Cameron Hill for having me this enduro season.”
