Ash Walsh Lays Down Laps At Queensland Raceway

Ash Walsh has returned to his home track at Queensland Raceway, working his way through the first day of Super2 pre-season testing in a Matt Stone prepared Triple Eight VF Commodore.

Returning to Super 2 after a four-year hiatus, the Ipswich local slipped comfortably into his program today, determined to dominate the 2019 Super2 Series, beginning in Adelaide on February 28th.

“The car is nice and easy to drive, even on average tiers it’s doing everything I want it to do. Once we get some new tyres on it, it will be interesting to see how it performs, in Adelaide.

Todd Hazelwood, MSR’s main game driver was also on hand to ensure the new Super 2 drivers had every opportunity to get the most out of the todays test.

Super 2 Series rookie, Joel Heinrich is also attending todays test completing his 1st full day in the MSR FGX Falcon since he tested with the team in its pre-Christmas test in December 2018.

“We are making progress in adapting to the car, fitting in well with the team at MSR who have provided good feedback. Its promising that Todd’s feedback aligns with mine”

Team owners Matt Stone & Jason Gomersall have reported how pleased they are with today’s session, especially with the full mechanical and engineering staff coming together for the first time in 2019.

“It’s been a very productive day, the hard work over the off season performed by the team including new engineers Jack Bellotti and Rob Palermo has paid dividends today”

MSR will complete its 2019 pre season test at Qld Raceway tomorrow.
