Matt Stone Racing’s Dunlop Super2 Series entrant Bryce Fullwood will take part in the Additional Drivers Practice at Winton.
The 20-year-old originally from Darwin joined MSR at the beginning of the year and will steer the Bigmate Racing Falcon raced by Todd Hazelwood on Friday morning.
Team Owner Matt Stone says he’s excited to see what Fullwood can bring to the Supercar, in what he said is important for the team’s development.
“We look forward to having Bryce step up into Todd’s car this Friday at Winton,” Stone said.
“It is a prime opportunity to utilise one of our very own drivers to help gain knowledge about the car and hopefully set ourselves up for a positive weekend.”
Fullwood is currently racing a Ford FG-X Falcon in the Dunlop Super2 Series and sits 13th in the standings.
“With Bryce racing a car very similar to Todd’s in the Dunlop Super2 Series, the transition phase will be minimised, which will help chassis feedback and gain a good direction for setup for the remainder of the weekend,” Stone added.
“Having the Additional Drivers sessions at Supercars events is a great way to promote young talent.
“After Winton we will evaluate the performance of Bryce and will have an official announcement regarding a Bigmate Racing co-driver in the coming weeks.”
The Bigmate Racing team will be on-track this weekend for the Winton SuperSprint on 18-20 May.
